Rev. Mr. John Testa

Our Lady Of Perpetual Help, Seaside Heights

What is your name and age?
John Testa, 44

What seminary do you attend and what year are you in the seminary?
Immaculate Conception Seminary, 1st Theology

A interesting thing about my life is:
Not giving up

.

Prior to the seminary I:
Worked for the Township of Toms River

When I want to relax or have some fun I would:
Get involved in anything sports related

The first time I thought about a priestly vocation was:
1981

How do you pray, what is your prayer life like?
Besides the structured prayer of the seminary, I always try to find at least one half to one hour a day for personal prayer in front of the Blessed Sacrament and Eucharistic Adoration when offered.

What excites me about being a priest is:
Being an instrument of God's mercy to serve the people of God and the Diocese of Trenton.

What do you enjoy about seminary life?
The preparation given which incorporates the four pillars of formation.

If someone is considering a vocation to the priesthood I would tell them:
To persevere.

A couple books on my shelf, CD's I own or songs I have downloaded are:
Bible, Sacramentary, Lectionary.

A Scripture passage that inspires me is:
Mark 11:22-23
