Daniel Kirk

St. Casimir Church, Riverside

What seminary do you attend?
Pontifical North American College in Rome

An interesting thing about my life is:
I am an Eagle Scout.

Prior to the seminary I: went to high school

When I want to relax or have some fun I would: play basketball or my Wii.

The first time I thought about a priestly vocation was: freshman in high school.

How do you pray? What is your prayer life like? I like to talk to God so my prayer life is very conversational.

What excites me about being a priest is: Being able to bring Jesus to people through the mass and ministry.

What do you enjoy about seminary life? I enjoy the fellowship I have with other seminarians.

If someone is considering a vocation to the priesthood I would tell them: Pray, pray, pray, and then pursue it. If it's not for you, you'll know it but if you don't try it, you'll always wonder.

A couple books on my shelf, CD's I own or songs I have downloaded are: Story of a Soul by St Therese, A Priest is Not His Own by Fulton Sheen, Sublime- Sublime, American Idiot- Greenday, Every Second Counts- Plain White T's

A Scripture passage that inspires me is:
My son, when you come to serve the LORD,
prepare yourself for trials.
Be sincere of heart and steadfast,
undisturbed in time of adversity.
Cling to him, forsake him not;
thus will your future be great.
Accept whatever befalls you,
in crushing misfortune be patient;
For in fire gold is tested,
and worthy men in the crucible of humiliation.
Trust God and he will help you;
make straight your ways and hope in him.
(Sirach 2:1-6)
